Hello and Welcome
Hi and welcome to the blog for Brandon's website. We're planning to update this as often as we can, hopefully at least a couple of times a month. By "we" I mean Brandon's family and friends. He has no access to a computer so this website has been created on his behalf. Both the letter from Brandon that is posted on the site and the artwork he creates for The Box are his way of communicating with you.
One of the challenges we've faced over the last eleven years has been to let people know that the struggle for his release continues even when we have nothing new to tell you about. Every stage of the appeals process takes years and we wait and hope and visit Brandon while the wheels of justice grind along. We love Brandon. We are here. We will never give up. We'll use this blog as a way to keep in touch with all of you who have written and called. We and Brandon appreciate your support so much. It keeps us going and keeps us strong. Thank you very much.

I’m really happy that this blog was started. I have been checking in regularly, hoping to hear of some progress towards Brandon’s release. Its really tragic that someone so young could receive such a sentence for being involved in a kids’ fistfight. What is up with his appeal? I know it takes a long time for the courts to respond, but what court are we talking about? Is it the federal court, or is the matter still at the state level?
Has Brandon been able complete his degree. I remember back in his 2002 letter he mentioned having difficulties because of testing dates and permissions to do course work.
Also in the Maragaret Taley LA Times interview its mentioned that Brandon wanted to get involved in the program where inmates talk to teenagers about avoiding prison. Was he able to take part?
I think he is in a different prison now, too, hopefully closer to his friends and family.
I think news about such small things would mean a lot to people who have taken interest in Brandon and his case.
Some great artwork. Hope to see more of that in the future.
Good luck.
Hello there. I've been writing to Brandon since March of '99. I live overseas now but still think about the case and Brandon every day. He's a strong guy.I've only visited him twice but he's left a big impression on me. Please pass on my best to Brandon and his family.

Hello there. I first wrote to Brandon 7 years ago. I now live overseas but think about him and the case every day. I hope he is okay, as okay as one can be in there. He's a strong person and leaves a big impression. I've only visited twice but hope to again when I get back to the States.
I heard about this case from a retired LAPD Officer that worked with Mr. Farris. He showed us the movie while we were studyin the Internal Affairs Division. He thought that it would be a good way to show the injustice and corruption that goes on inside the justice system. Since then I have become extremely interested in the case and would like to hear about what is going on with the case and with brandon. I can't find much written on it anywhere.
Hello. I just recently read about Brandon's case by pure accident while searching for a friend on the internet. I am in shock and cannot believe this happened. I have been emailing everyone I know and have been trying to think of ways to help. I am so deeply sorry to all of you. I can't imagine the horror this has been in your lives, especially for Brandon. Please let me know of anything I can do to help. I have written letters and mailed them last week and will continue to do so.
Have you tried to get his story on Nancy Grace or Anderson Cooper or have you ever tried Oprah? I am sure you all have done everything possible but I will try hard to think of things to help. Brandon seems like a beautiful person and I can see that he has a family that loves him deeply.
I am so sorry this has happened. It is absolutely shocking.I pray for a miracle for Brandon.
Hi,
Thanks so much for your response. As I was reading your answer about the status of Brandon's appeal, I got an idea that is probably a long shot, but might be worth a try (if you haven't already thought of it.
What about a presidential pardon? This probably won't be a possibility until the last days of Bush's term, but perhaps with a large effort, Brandon could get on the list to be pardoned. He certainly would deserve it more than the usual political types who have gone astray. Just another option that might be worth trying.
Brandon,
Hi am writing you as a request from Kip Gross. I am not sure if KIP ment for you to write or Gene but in his letter he asked that you have Gene write him.
Thanks,
-Natalie
