A decision soon from the court
An update from the court tells us that a decision for Brandon's appeal should be returned by the end of January. We are hopeful and terrified while we work hard to focus on what we do want instead of what we don't.
Thank you everyone - friends, family, supporters - all of you who have touched base to say that you are thinking of Brandon and praying for his release. This time of year is hard. In prison there is nothing special to mark the day. The food is as bad as always and there are no celebrations. Brandon loves to receive mail and still, for so many years, he has received cards saying, "maybe this will be your year." Their delivery becomes a marker for another year's passing even while the loving messages support him.
In spite of that, Brandon works to use his time and prepare himself for freedom. It will come. It must. He sends love and thanks and holiday wishes to all who read this and so do we.
Merry Christmas,
Janice and Gene Hein

Martin Luther King said, "Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." Brandon has waited longer than anyone can imagine. The Court has the opportunity to correct the underlying injustice of the felony murder rule not just for Brandon, but to provide a precident that will help our judicial system move toward truth . . . and justice for all.
Since I first met Brandon, in LA Central Jail before he was "State Property", and over the past ten years, he has become a major influence and hero to me. To find a man, who could go into prison as a little more than a boy, and survive, grow, mature, and never lose hope . . . Brandon, although very human, is an amazing man.
Let us pray that FINALLY justice may prevail!
May God speed Brandon's release. Since learning of Brandon, seldom a day goes by that I don't think of him and his family.
My heart is heavy for all that you've lost.
I pray for justice.
Love,
Myra K Christensen
There are way to many of these miscarriages going around. freejeffwashington.org is what i'm about... but i'm about brandon too. The cases are strickingly similar though Jeff came from lower class african american family, we have not gotten the press exposure that brandon has. I hope that Brandon gives back to this injustice once he is freed. He has a huge responsibility to those like him that will remain incarcerated once Brandon is free. This is so sad. My prayers are with you and I want you to know that you can email me thru our site anytime. Keep me posted. I'm linking Brandon's site to ours immediately. Best Regards, Randy Cadmus
I try to spread the story of Brandon around to as many people as I possibly can. What has been done to your family and to Brandon is absolutely horrifying. If you haven't yet, please check out the Myspace page I put together for Brandon a little over 2 years ago. Get people to visit the page and anything you want me to change or add I will. Maybe post on this site?

My thoughts are with you always and I will keep telling everyone about this case even after Brandon is released. Much love, Kim - Milwaukee, WI
I've been waiting to hear if I passed my CFP board. Grades are to be posted the end of January. Though I've never met Brandon, I have found myself more anxious over the courts decision for him than the boards decision for me. I have a new standard of what's important and what's not.
Brandon's release is at the top of that list.
